February 28th 2009 saw the first Gateway skydive. 9 members took the plunge and raised just under £2800. This money will help many other people put their lives back together. Gateway in Sheffield

Gateway has moved up a gear and is now being modelled on a smaller scale in the north. A church in Sheffield are now using the Gateway model on a tuesday evening. Members with past and current substance misuse issues are welcomed into the home of a church member who once had problems with drugs. It is a safe environment for members to discuss their issues and to find sollutions. Individuals have the same oppurtinities as the Gateway members in solihull. So when and if there is a need for onward referral to a rehabilitation centre or detox centre the members are welcome to access these avenues. Read More

Progression

Jay began attending tuesday evening mentor group just over 5 weeks ago. Jay had been addicted to cocaine and alcohol for numerous years. Following regular attendance he is now abstinent and back into work. He has also started back at the gym. After discussing his future career prospects, Jay is now looking at the possibility of accessing funding from the Gateway foundation to pursue further education. Read More

Brian was involved in gun and drug running for numerous years. He also had a large cocaine habit and began to feel totally hopeless. Following  regular support through the Gateway mentorship programme, Brian is now training as a sports organiser in dorset. The training will equip him to train young men and women with similar issues to what he had. This qualification will also allow him to take his skills abroad if he chose to do so. Detox Success

Mark is an  18 year old man who spent  Several years using heroin and crack cocaine. Through these years he served several  prison sentences. Following regular attendance at the Gateway mentorship group and receiving individual one to one mentorship, Micheal was referred to Victory Outreach UK to their detox centre in the black country. After spending 2 weeks there he reduced  a high dose of substitute medication and is now completely  abstinent from heroin. He is currently transfering to Victory Outreach in Wales to one of the homes there. This will equip him with further life skills. Read More
